In
order to support as many of our New Brunswick Archers as possible
at all competitions, the AANB has developed the following strategy
in hopes of developing a plan which will support our top Archers
at all levels of archery competitions.
Purpose:
1.
To encourage the development of proficient 3D or FITA Archers
in New Brunswick
2. To develop a team approach whereby New Brunswick Archers work
together to achieve success.
3. To support local Archery clubs by attendance at their 3D and
FITA shoots.
4. To field a strong team for participation in the Canadian 3D,
Field or FITA Championships.
5. To help provide funding for shooters dedicated to the Provincial
Program and National competition.
Rationale
There
are a number of items that are important to the growth of 3D and
FITA Archery in New Brunswick.
1. Local clubs must continue hosting 3D and FITA shoots and they
must be financially rewarded for the work they do.
2. We must make an effort to send the best possible Archers to
the Nationals
3. While keeping this in mind we want to send Archers to the Nationals
who are committed to 3D or FITA Archery and who will be good ambassadors
for the AANB at National events.
4. We want to acknowledge the people who by their participation
are supporting the local club shoots. We want the club shoots
to be challenging enough to develop the skill levels of our shooters.
5. We want to use the funding available to its maximum benefit
by sending the greatest number of shooters possible to the Nationals.
Team
Membership Criteria
1.
The program is open to all archers: Male or Female
2. Team members must be in good standing with the AANB or be a
member in good standing of an AANB affiliated club
3. A non-refundable fee of $150.00 must be paid by March 31 for
the calendar year beginning January 1 to December 31 each year
the Archer wishes to be a member of the team. The fee must be
paid to the AANB.
4. Team members must sign an athlete contract with the AANB and
a Team registration form.
5. Team members must demonstrate a commitment to the Team concept
by attending meetings; practices and fund-raising activities when
called to do so.
FUNDING
CRITERIA TO ATTEND NATIONAL EVENTS
1.
To be eligible for funding to the 3D, Field or FITA Nationals
Archers must turn in witnessed and signed scorecards from the
following competitions:
- AANB
indoor 3D or FITA Championship.
- 50%
plus 1 of AANB 3D or FITA qualifier Shoots. (Shoots, which have
been, sanctioned by the AANB and follow FCA rules. Results must
be sent to the Records and Statistics Chairman of AANB.)
- AANB
Outdoor 3D or FITA championship.
- The
Archer must shoot a qualifying score at two separate tournaments
to determine funding.
- Scorecards
must be sent or delivered to the Records and Statistics Chairman.
Scorecards must be turned in immediately following the shoot.
(If mailed, seven days will be allowed for delivery.) It is
the responsibility of the Archer to ensure that his/her scorecard
is completely filled out, signed and sent in on time.
- To
be eligible for funding, team members must have qualifying scores
as determined by the executive (see Table
A)
Example:
If Joe Archer is in the MBO class he must shoot a score of 337
at 2 of the Qualifer shoots .A round consists of 40 targets @
10 points per target = 400.
2.
To be funded to attend National shoots, archers under sixteen
(16) must be chaperoned.
3.
To receive your funding after a National event the Archer must
turn in a copy of their National score card to the treasurer of
the AANB before the end of August of the year of the competition.
